There are many kinds of cold-rolled stainless steel finishes, of which 2B and BA are the two main surfaces. So what do 2B and BA mean?

They refer to different types of cold-rolled surface treatment processes. Among them, the formation of 2B is cold rolling-annealing and pickling-smoothing, and the formation of BA is cold rolling-bright annealing-smoothing. The main difference lies in the annealing process. Different, 2B is annealed and pickled, the surface is oxidized to a certain extent and darker; BA is bright annealed, and the surface is not oxidized and brighter.

304 is one of the main members of the stainless steel family, with huge output and circulation. 304J1, as a sibling of 304, is a copper-containing material of 304, which has a better deep drawing performance than 304. It is mainly used for deep processing and belongs to the nickel saving series.

What is the difference between 304 stainless steel hot rolled steel and cold rolled steel

Rolling is divided into cold rolling and hot rolling, with the recrystallization temperature as the distinguishing point.

Hot rolled plate:

  1. Poor toughness and surface flatness, lower price;
  2. The temperature of hot rolling is similar to that of forging;
  3. The hot plate adopts hot rolled processing surface with oxide scale, and the thickness of the plate is inferior;
  4. The price and application of hot-rolled products are relatively more extensive than those of cold-rolling;
  5. Hot-rolled steel, mechanical properties are far inferior to cold working, and second to forging, but have better toughness and ductility;
  6. The surface of the non-plated hot rolled plate is dark brown;
  7. It can be distinguished from the smoothness of the surface after plating, and the smoothness of the hot-rolled plate is low;

Cold-rolled plate:

  1. Good stretchability and toughness, but the price is more expensive;
  2. The cold-rolled surface has no oxide scale and good quality;
  3. Cold rolling is generally used to produce strip, and its rolling speed is high;
  4. Cold rolling has higher thickness accuracy than hot rolling, and mechanical properties and surface are all above hot rolling;
  5. Cold rolled steel sheet has a certain degree of work hardening and low toughness, but can achieve a good yield ratio for cold bending spring leaf and other parts;
  6. Because the yield point of the cold plate is closer to the tensile strength, the danger is not foreseen during use, and accidents are likely to occur when the load exceeds the allowable load.
  7. The surface of the cold-rolled plate that is not plated is gray.
  8. The smoothness of the cold-rolled plate can be higher than that of the hot-rolled plate after electroplating.

  1. I don’t even know the way I ended up here, but I assumed this put up was good.
    I don’t know who you might be but certainly you’re going to a well-known blogger for those who aren’t already.
    Cheers!
